The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexandre Monteiro during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee felt a red card was in order, 11 minutes into the game, when Francisco Pires put in a rough tackle. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Moreira in the 16th minute of play forced Gil Vicente F.C.'s goalkeeper Miguel Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Heitor Torres during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Heitor Torres hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Miguel Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Gueifão having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Emanuel Viegas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Miguel Martins was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 39 minutes into the game, Rui Paredes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gil Vicente F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Canidello the free kick. A collision led to Gil Vicente F.C. getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Rui Paredes hit a great ball. Gil Vicente F.C.'s Miguel Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by António Moreira in the 40th minute of play. Miguel Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Gueifão having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SC Canidello's Afonso Neves got a free kick in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miguel Oliveira was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, António Moreira reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Miguel Martins. The goal made the score 0-3. Emanuel Viegas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Miguel Martins made a huge save. Miguel Martins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Heitor Torres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 63rd minute, Miguel Oliveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abel Gueifão was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Miguel Martins made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Emanuel Viegas sent off a good shot on target. After 68 minutes, Rodrigo Ribeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gil Vicente F.C. and the SC Canidello players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 69 played minutes Gil Vicente F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo Ribeiro. In the 70th minute of the match Diogo Soares shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Miguel Martins showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Filipe Setúbal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Gueifão having to interfere. Miguel Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, SC Canidello's Joaquim Moura got a free kick in the 75th minute. Miguel Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Gueifão having to interfere. Miguel Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Abel Gueifão came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Gil Vicente F.C.'s Miguel Oliveira. But to his dismay, Miguel Oliveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. SC Canidello's Abel Gueifão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filipe Setúbal in the 87th minute of play. Miguel Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Abel Gueifão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandre Monteiro kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Although Gil Vicente F.C. had been in control for most of the match, SC Canidello still came away with the win.
