A collision led to FC Bairro Madre Deus getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Eduardo Melo hit a great ball. Carlos Jesus might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Flávio Pimentel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Jesus ran back to his position shaking his head. The FC Bairro Madre Deus players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Gesteira were winning 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ricardo Resende to strike the kick off in the second half. FC Bairro Madre Deus's Vítor Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Resende in the 54th minute of play. With a little luck, FC Bairro Madre Deus's Vítor Carvalho got control of the ball when Renato Araújo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of FC Bairro Madre Deus booed when Gesteira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastião Sacramento didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute, Gesteira's Ricardo Resende ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vítor Carvalho. Vítor Carvalho yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. If Jesualdo Carvalhais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Gesteira's Vítor Carvalho threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ricardo Resende, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ricardo Resende struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Vítor Carvalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gesteira. An unexpected shot in the 83rd minute by Renato Araújo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Resende in the 85th minute of play forced FC Bairro Madre Deus's goalkeeper Vítor Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 93 minutes into the game, one of Gesteira:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the final whistle sounded Gesteira left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Bairro Madre Deus.
