After a rather tough play, SC Telhaes's Simão Ferraz got a free kick in the 4th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Gandarela's Herberto Regueira tried to score from far away in the 5th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Nélson Loureiro kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Evandro Delgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Éder Leão, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After a defensive mix-up in SC Telhaes's zone, Cristóvão Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomé Pestana came out of the goal and Cristóvão Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 23 minutes into the match, SC Telhaes's goalkeeper Tomé Pestana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristóvão Neves. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Miranda in the 24th minute of play forced SC Telhaes's goalkeeper Tomé Pestana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Éder Leão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Telhaes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling David Travassos in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Evandro Delgado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Travassos in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evandro Delgado saved Gandarela from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alípio Caldeira during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 34th minute, Alípio Caldeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gandarela's Aquilino Ramires shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 36th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Tomé Pestana but with some difficulty. Tomé Pestana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Miranda in the 39th minute of play. Zarco Domingos hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. SC Telhaes's David Travassos got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Éder Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evandro Delgado having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Miranda to make the kick off. Alípio Caldeira kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, SC Telhaes's Gusmão Miranda got a free kick in the 61st minute. David Travassos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Evandro Delgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 68 minutes, Higino Alcântara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gandarela and the SC Telhaes players grew even worse after the yellow card. Higino Alcântara hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Cristóvão Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé Pestana having to interfere. Cristóvão Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Telhaes's goalkeeper Tomé Pestana, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. SC Telhaes's Tomé Pestana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Miranda in the 89th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Carlos Miranda notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of SC Telhaes's Tomé Pestana. Tomé Pestana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 95 minutes into the match, SC Telhaes's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Miranda came free, but Tomé Pestana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
