Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mauro Guerra in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Afonso Araújo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mauro Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Lajens's goalkeeper Afonso Araújo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedro Moniz charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Moniz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pedro Moniz kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Jacinto Nascimento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vasco Viegas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. SC Sarnadinha's Vasco Viegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Esteves in the 29th minute of play. Vasco Viegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacinto Nascimento in the 37th minute of the match. José Esteves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Vasco Viegas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vivaldo Alvarenga couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Mauro Guerra made the kick off in the second half. Afonso Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Guerra in the 52nd minute of the match. SC Sarnadinha's Vasco Viegas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save SC Sarnadinha from getting a goal against them. Afonso Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Guerra in the 61st minute of the match. When Mauro Guerra fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Sarnadinha's protests and gave Mauro Guerra a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, SC Sarnadinha's Mauro Guerra got a free kick in the 66th minute. José Estevess short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Vasco Viegas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Vivaldo Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vasco Viegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. SC Lajens's Pedro Moniz got his second yellow card of the match in the 77th minute. The referee ordered Pedro Moniz off the ground. After 78 played minutes SC Lajens got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Moniz. If Pedro Veríssimo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cláudio Moura's late challenge caught a SC Sarnadinha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cláudio Moura helped the player get up and apologised. Cláudio Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. If José Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Esteves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vasco Viegas having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Lajens walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
