In the 2nd minute of the match Eusébio Faro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alberto Viegas skillfully saved the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Nogueira got free with Nuno Simões in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jaime Lopes in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alberto Viegas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Jaime Lopes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alberto Viegas was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Cristiano Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 16 minutes into the match, Tabuadela's Jorge Pinto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nuno Simões narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Manuel Maia was slow to take the kick. During this time Tabuadela's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Manuel Maia almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Verdemilho FC's Nuno Simões did a great save. 73 minutes into the match, Verdemilho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Nogueira came free, but Nuno Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Luís Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
