After 7 minutes, Nuno Antas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Carapelhos and the Alvisquer players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Alvisquer booed when SC Carapelhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Antas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Catarino Aveiro in the 12thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cristóvão Monteiro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Alvisquer's Sérgio Faria got a free kick in the 13th minute. Gentil Caires might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristóvão Monteiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gentil Caires ran back to his position shaking his head. Gentil Caires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristóvão Monteiro having to interfere. Nuno Figueiredo charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nuno Figueiredo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. SC Carapelhos's Catarino Aveiro managed to work through Alvisquer's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Catarino Aveiro dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Alvisquer's Cristóvão Monteiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Alvisquer from getting a goal against them. SC Carapelhos's supporters rose to their feet, but Catarino Aveiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristóvão Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joaquim Ramos made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Catarino Aveiro in the 100th minute of play forced Alvisquer's goalkeeper Cristóvão Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Alvisquer eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
