António Paixão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nélson Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. SLB MORENO's Alípio Abreu got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute SC Amieira were awarded a corner. Fabrício Quirino went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on SC Amieira's corner Fabrício Quirino fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and António Paixão quite easily take care of the ball. 16 minutes into the match, SLB MORENO's goalkeeper António Paixão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rui Gameiro. After a rather tough play, SLB MORENO's Alípio Abreu got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute, SLB MORENO's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nélson Linhares fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cesário Palmeira was the one to do the kick off. One of SLB MORENO:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Amieira:s goal. In the 75th minute, Nélson Linhares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. António Paixão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nélson Linhares in the 85th minute of play. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by SLB MORENO's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fabrício Quirino was slow to take the kick. During this time SC Amieira's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Fabrício Quirino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SLB MORENO's António Paixão did a great save. In the 94th minute Rui Gameiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Paixão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind SLB MORENO's goalkeeper António Paixão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Octávio Pedroso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 102nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Amieira's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
