Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gervásio Noronha took the kick off in the first half of the match. Leixões's Caetano Fagundes got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amável Assis was a little too slow when Gervásio Noronha got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 5th minute. The score was now 1-0. 8 minutes into the match, Caetano Fagundes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amável Assis. SC Fuzileiros's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Caetano Fagundes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Caetano Fagundes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 14 minutes of play, SC Fuzileiros's Armindo Lima made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jerónimo Leal was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 17th minute, Paulo Ruas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Caetano Fagundes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leixões's supporters rose to their feet, but Caetano Fagundes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amável Assis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Amado Braga fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leixões's protests and gave Amado Braga a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Fuzileiros booed when Leixões was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amado Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caetano Fagundes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Amável Assis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Leixões booed when SC Fuzileiros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basílio Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute Gervásio Noronha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amável Assis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gervásio Noronha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in SC Fuzileiros's zone, Gervásio Noronha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amável Assis came out of the goal and Gervásio Noronha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulo Ruas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerónimo Leal having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulo Ruas to strike the kick off in the second half. Paulo Ruas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jerónimo Leal came out and tried to block the shot, but Paulo Ruas slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 53rd minute. After 56 played minutes SC Fuzileiros got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Alcântara. In the 57th match minute, Leixões was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Pimenta to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 67 minutes, Caetano Fagundes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leixões's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caetano Fagundes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Paulo Ruas came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the SC Fuzileiros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Ruas couldn't finish the play. Amável Assis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caetano Fagundes in the 73rd minute of the match. After 75 minutes, Basílio Alcântara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Fuzileiros and the Leixões players grew even worse after the yellow card. Basílio Alcântara hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. SC Fuzileiros's Amável Assis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gervásio Noronha in the 86th minute of play. In the 90th match minute, SC Fuzileiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gregório Gentil to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 95 minutes, Armindo Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Fuzileiros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armindo Lima was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
