Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when António Álvares made the kick off which started today's match. In the 6th minute, Caio Cordeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valpaco FC's Adelino Cardoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Valpaco FC from getting a goal against them. 17 minutes into the game, Luís Leão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Valpaco FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montes the free kick. A collision led to Valpaco FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Luís Leão hit a great ball. Teodoro Ribeiro lost his temper 25 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 24th minute, one of Montes:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Montes. 29 minutes into the match, Rui Trindade had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elias Guerra. Montes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rui Trindade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Hugo Resende's late challenge caught a Montes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugo Resende helped the player get up and apologised. Valpaco FC's Hélder Henriques got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rui Trindade made a kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 52 minutes, Elias Guerra successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Hélder Henriques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caio Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Adelino Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Rui Trindade came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Valpaco FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rui Trindade couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hélder Henriques got free with Elias Guerra in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elias Guerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Trindade in the 71st minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Hélder Henriques ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elias Guerra was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Dércio Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ricardo Lima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Adelino Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Montes's Elias Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Trindade in the 84th minute of play. Rui Trindade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caio Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adelino Cardoso having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Valpaco FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
