Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernando Fernandes in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomás Barbosa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Emanuel Vaz came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Azenhas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Vaz couldn't finish the play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manuel Coelho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tomás Barbosa was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Honorato Vargas. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Roberto Ramos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gavião FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Roberto Ramos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomás Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roberto Ramos got free with Tomás Barbosa in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Roberto Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
