When Manuel Coelho came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Azenhas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Coelho couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Recreativo Ninho do Açor getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Pascoal Coimbra hit a great ball. In the 9th minute Manuel Coelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentim Gusmão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10thth minute of the game Emanuel Vaz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Recreativo Ninho do Açor's Valentim Gusmão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Azenhas's Tomás Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvano Lima in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th match minute, Recreativo Ninho do Açor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heitor Vides to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Recreativo Ninho do Açor booed when Azenhas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. 18 minutes into the game, Azenhas's Manuel Coelho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valentim Gusmão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Silvano Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Manuel Coelho made a precise shot to the right of Valentim Gusmão. Recreativo Ninho do Açor's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Manuel Coelho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Valentim Gusmão made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silvano Lima stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Lucas Dias fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Azenhas's protests and gave Lucas Dias a yellow card for diving instead. Lucas Dias hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Manuel Coelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Valentim Gusmão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emanuel Vaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manuel Coelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentim Gusmão having to interfere. Azenhas's Emanuel Vaz got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 74 minutes, Manuel Coelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Azenhas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Coelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 75 minutes into the match, Recreativo Ninho do Açor's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Coelho came free, but Valentim Gusmão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Recreativo Ninho do Açor's zone, Emanuel Vaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentim Gusmão came out of the goal and Emanuel Vaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvano Lima in the 78th minute of play forced Azenhas's goalkeeper Tomás Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manuel Coelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentim Gusmão having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Isac Damásio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Azenhas's Manuel Coelho got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Recreativo Ninho do Açor getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Almiro Lima hit a great ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Azenhas had played much better football throughout.
