But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo Leão couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, snub team's Rafael Moutinho threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fabrício Linhares, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Eusébio Ramos charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eusébio Ramos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Gavinheira getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Eusébio Ramos hit a great ball. Frederico Barroso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabrício Linhares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes in the game, Gustavo Sousa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Frederico Barroso having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Torcato Barbosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 66 minutes into the match, Gavinheira's goal looked a bit too open when Torcato Barbosa came free, but Rafael Moutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th match minute, Gavinheira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Gomes to maneuver through the defense. Jorge Correia charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Jorge Correia hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gustavo Sousa in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frederico Barroso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 77th minute, Gustavo Leão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 81st match minute, Gavinheira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Correia to maneuver through the defense. Torcato Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Moutinho having to interfere. Torcato Barbosa's late challenge caught a Gavinheira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gavinheira's Gustavo Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
