The crowd rose to their feet as Alquera's Marco Maia slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ronaldo Marinho. That made the score 1-0 after 5 minutes of play. 8 minutes into the match, Alquera's goal looked a bit too open when Cristóvão Azevedo came free, but Alfredo Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 14 minutes into the game, Marco Maia recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ronaldo Marinho. Marco Maia showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. After 26 minutes, Sebastião Delgado made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Colos FC's Ronaldo Marinho tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 31st minute Cristóvão Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronaldo Marinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Maia in the 33rd minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 86th match minute, Alquera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Guarda to maneuver through the defense. If Germano Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Alquera fans cheered their team off the field, for while Colos FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
