Isidro Trindade was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Raul Corte-Real received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. In the 31stth minute of the game Pedro Guarda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Varela FC's Hugo Delgado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Raul Corte-Real was extremely unlucky when he, in the 33rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Varela FC's Hugo Delgado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Varela FC from getting a goal against them. Raul Corte-Real's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Hugo Delgado skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Roberto Campos hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 44 minutes into the match, Varela FC's Afonso Reis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Isidro Trindade narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and José Vaz made a kick off. Isidro Trindade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Vaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Xavier Faro fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varela FC's protests and gave Xavier Faro a yellow card for diving instead. SC Paranho's Pedro Guarda got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hugo Delgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raul Corte-Real in the 79th minute of the match. Pedro Guarda struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Hugo Delgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Paranho. 82 minutes into the game, Domingos Carvalho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Varela FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Paranho the free kick. A collision led to Varela FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Domingos Carvalho hit a great ball. Raul Corte-Real received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Hugo Delgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isidro Trindade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Vaz in the 88th minute of the match. Isidro Trindade didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 91st minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. Afonso Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 96 minutes into the match, SC Paranho's goal looked a bit too open when José Vaz came free, but Isidro Trindade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Varela FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
