Penuzinhos FC's Vladimiro Sardinha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Nogueira in the 10th minute of play. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Penuzinhos FC's goalkeeper Vladimiro Sardinha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Varela FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Afonso Reis hit a great ball. If Dércio Pestana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Varela FC's Carlos Nogueira got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 27th minute, Domingos Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Afonso Reis in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vladimiro Sardinha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 37 played minutes Penuzinhos FC got a freekick which was hit by Teodoro Sales. Vladimiro Sardinha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Vaz in the 42nd minute of the match. If Jordão Ferraz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nuno Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nuno Lima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th match minute, Varela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Lima to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jordão Ferraz made a kick off. Afonso Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimiro Sardinha having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Quintino Carmona got free with Hugo Delgado in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 55th play minute Quintino Carmona came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Hugo Delgado. 0-1. In the 59th minute José Vaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimiro Sardinha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Penuzinhos FC's Vladimiro Sardinha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Vaz in the 69th minute of play. In the 74thth minute of the game Domingos Carvalho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Penuzinhos FC's Vladimiro Sardinha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hugo Delgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jordão Ferraz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jordão Ferraz in the 77th minute of play forced Varela FC's goalkeeper Hugo Delgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 79 minutes of play Penuzinhos FC's Teodoro Sales was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Teodoro Sales hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After 82 minutes Penuzinhos FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Manuel Ramos who took care of the corner kick. When Afonso Reis came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Varela FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso Reis couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Penuzinhos FC's zone, José Vaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vladimiro Sardinha came out of the goal and José Vaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Quintino Carmona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
