In the 6th minute, the referee gave Eidos FC a penalty. Ricardo Pedroso looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Fernando Torres. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Moutinho in the 9th minute of play forced Eidos FC's goalkeeper Luís Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augusto Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Luís Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandre Ferreira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fernando Torres having to make a save. Alexandre Ferreira struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Fernando Torres didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eidos FC. If Augusto Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augusto Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Pires having to interfere. Alexandre Ferreira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fernando Torres having to make a save. Fernando Torres didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 33rd minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. The audience was convinced that Augusto Cardoso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luís Pires was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Fernando Torres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Moniz in the 60th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, João Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfredo Moniz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Torres having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Augusto Cardoso got free with Luís Pires in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of SC Espinhaco booed when Eidos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Augusto Cardoso came free with the goalkeeper in the 78th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Luís Pires could save by the left post. In the 80th minute of the match Filipe Vale sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fernando Torres skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Eidos FC's zone, Augusto Cardoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Pires came out of the goal and Augusto Cardoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Júlio Moutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eidos FC's Alfredo Moniz got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fernando Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Moniz, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Fernando Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Ferreira in the 96th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Espinhaco players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Eidos FC.
