The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The goalkeeper, Sandro Amaro, was totally fooled by Samarra's Manuel Viveiros, who 5 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Sandro Amaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gusmão Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. If Diogo Ferro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Samarra's Nuno Vilanova got a free kick in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gusmão Medeiros in the 29th minute of play forced SC Sequeade's goalkeeper Sandro Amaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute of the game, Américo Castro landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 32 minutes into the game, Nuno Vilanova was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Samarra's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Sequeade the free kick. The supporters of SC Sequeade booed when Samarra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Vilanova didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gusmão Medeiros was the one to do the kick off. SC Sequeade's Sandro Amaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Vilanova in the 52nd minute of play. Gusmão Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gusmão Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Amaro having to interfere. Nicolas Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Sandro Amaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Samarra supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SC Sequeade's performance. The match ended with a win for SC Sequeade.
