In the 7th match minute, Ribafeita FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ademar Palhares to maneuver through the defense. With 15 minutes on the clock, Américo Assunção commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 14 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Carregado FC! 16 minutes into the match, Reginaldo Gouveia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alexandre Macedo. Carregado FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reginaldo Gouveia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 19 minutes into the game, Amadeu Pires was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carregado FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ribafeita FC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Carregado FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! After 22 played minutes Carregado FC got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Aleixo. If Leonardo Santarém had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Leiria in the 29th minute of play forced Ribafeita FC's goalkeeper Benedito Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Danilo Serpa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 33 played minutes Carregado FC got a freekick which was hit by Viriato Matos. In the 37th minute Leonardo Santarém shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Macedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonardo Santarém fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Macedo having to interfere. After 41 minutes, Augusto Valentim mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ribafeita FC and the Carregado FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Augusto Valentim kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Danilo Serpa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Alexandre Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leonardo Santarém stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Carregado FC's goalkeeper Alexandre Macedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leonardo Santarém received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Alexandre Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandre Macedo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
