The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Canove FC's Saúl Gaspar dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Saúl Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Saúl Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Adelino Torcato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 14 minutes, Saúl Gaspar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canove FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saúl Gaspar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 17 minutes, Jacinto Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 18 played minutes SC Arelho got a freekick which was hit by Ivo Fidalgo. After a rather tough play, SC Arelho's Nuno Valério got a free kick in the 21st minute. Claudemiro Bacelar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Mário Moutinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Perdigão in the 28th minute of play forced Canove FC's goalkeeper Mário Moutinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adelino Torcato showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saúl Gaspar in the 30th minute of the match. After 30 minutes, Renato Leme mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canove FC and the SC Arelho players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th minute, Renato Leme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, SC Arelho's Adelino Torcato got control of the ball when Jacinto Alcântara tried to sneak it across the goal line. Augusto Teves hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Mário Moutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Perdigão, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Bruno Perdigão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruno Perdigão in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mário Moutinho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Bruno Perdigão came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the SC Arelho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruno Perdigão couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Saúl Gaspar took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adelino Torcato. Adelino Torcato dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. If Bruno Perdigão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. SC Arelho's Adelino Torcato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saúl Gaspar in the 67th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Saúl Gaspar in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adelino Torcato prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Claudemiro Bacelar came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the SC Arelho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudemiro Bacelar couldn't finish the play. Adelino Torcato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saúl Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the match, SC Arelho's goal looked a bit too open when Saúl Gaspar came free, but Adelino Torcato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Canove FC's Jacinto Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Canove FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Arelho had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
