The referee showed Gonçalo Marques the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 18 minutes into the match, Paulo Espinosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Tavares. ATOMIC SPORT CLUB's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo Espinosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 23 minutes into the match, Barcel FC's Roberto Moutinho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Tavares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alfredo Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Domingos Tinoco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Espinosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Tavares having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Vítor Gentil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Gentil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. António Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Domingos Tinoco made an important save on a dangerous shot by António Queirós in the 40th minute. After some careless play in the ATOMIC SPORT CLUB defense, Gustavo Távora kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Tavares. The ATOMIC SPORT CLUB fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Tavares should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Roberto Moutinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vítor Gentil charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vítor Gentil the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 66th match minute, Barcel FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vítor Gentil to maneuver through the defense. ATOMIC SPORT CLUB's Alfredo Reis got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 87th minute, António Queirós got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 89th minute, Roberto Moutinho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Carlos Tavares. The goal made the score 0-4. Carlos Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto Moutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
