With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joaquim Cabral in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomás Coimbra saved Canada FC from getting behind. Gil Fernandes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but André Brito read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. André Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Luz in the 19th minute of play. Filipe Moutinho hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the game, Remus Mutu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Tomás Coimbra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joaquim Cabral in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. In the 79th minute Joaquim Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Coimbra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquim Cabral might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tomás Coimbra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joaquim Cabral ran back to his position shaking his head. The Canada FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SC Soeirinho were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
