A collision led to Jickael Mackson FC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Antero Pires hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Paulo Araújo sped through Jickael Mackson FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Maurício Diegues. Xavier Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Maurício Diegues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 12 played minutes Franzina got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Vaz. After a rather tough play, Franzina's Sérgio Viegas got a free kick in the 16th minute. José Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Lameirinhas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulo Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Maurício Diegues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Franzina's Xavier Araújo in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jickael Mackson FC's goalie prevented a goal. Antero Pires recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Paulo Araújo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maurício Diegues was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. After 41 played minutes Jickael Mackson FC got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Perdigão. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lúcio Gonçalves in the 43rd minute of play forced Jickael Mackson FC's goalkeeper Maurício Diegues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Paulo Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jorge Lameirinhas was the one to do the kick off. Paulo Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Diegues having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Lúcio Gonçalves sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Jickael Mackson FC's Maurício Diegues didn't even have to move. 66 minutes into the game, Antero Pires was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jickael Mackson FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Franzina the free kick. Paulo Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Diegues having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Xavier Araújo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 75 minutes into the match, Jickael Mackson FC's goalkeeper Maurício Diegues had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulo Araújo. In the 83rd minute, Xavier Araújo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Jickael Mackson FC's Durval Taveira got a free kick in the 89th minute. If Joaquim Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raimundo Mendonça hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The Franzina players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
