Paulo Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Vilarinho having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Franzina's Xavier Araújo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of João Vilarinho. That made the score 1-0 after 12 minutes of play. In the 15th minute, Rafael Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Borges made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Palmiro Silveira in the 19th minute of play. João Vilarinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xavier Araújo in the 20th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Paulo Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Franzina's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Araújo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Vilarinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Artur Belém charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Artur Belém the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Xisto! Palmiro Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. José Borges tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Xisto's Manuel Linhares in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Franzina's goalie prevented a goal. After 35 played minutes Franzina got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Barros. If Rafael Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. João Vilarinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xavier Araújo's shot from short distance in the 47th minute.

The wind increased when Palmiro Silveira made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Palmiro Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Franzina booed when Xisto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valério Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xisto's João Vilarinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Araújo in the 62nd minute of play. Joaquim Vaz charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The long shot by Telmo Madruga in the 95th minute really tested José Borges's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Xisto players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Franzina.
