An unexpectedly hard shot by Frédson Mazza in the 13th minute of play forced FC Xenons's goalkeeper João Brites to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Portela charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Portela the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Carlos Portela kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Frédson Mazza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Iker Herena was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Carlos Portela showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. After some careless play in the Piaçaba defense, Carlos Portela kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iker Herena. The Piaçaba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iker Herena should have stopped the shot. Iker Herena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Portela in the 30th minute of play. If Samuel Queiroga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute German Ceandro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Brites saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Samuel Queiroga got free with Iker Herena in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Piaçaba getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Albertino Miranda hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute, Frédson Mazza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Carlos Portela made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, German Ceandro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 56th minute, Samuel Queiroga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Xenons fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Piaçaba's Sérgio Oliveira was substituted for Albertino Miranda. Samuel Queiroga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iker Herena having to interfere. When German Ceandro came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Piaçaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that German Ceandro couldn't finish the play. In the 89th minute, Samuel Queiroga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Xenons fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Sérgio Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. João Brites tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
