After a rather tough play, SC Alportel's Emílio Setúbal got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 10thth minute of the game David Esteves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Alportel's Flávio Correia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to SC Alcains getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Paulo Castro hit a great ball. In the 14th minute, Rui Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emílio Domingues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severiano Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Esteves struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Flávio Correia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Alcains. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Severiano Martins made the kick off in the second half. Heitor Matos might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Flávio Correia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Heitor Matos ran back to his position shaking his head. Rui Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Esteves in the 67th minute of play forced SC Alportel's goalkeeper Flávio Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute, Juvenal Toscano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Heitor Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Flávio Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd match minute, SC Alportel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emílio Setúbal to maneuver through the defense. If Heitor Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Alcains's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filipe Borges was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SC Alcains fully deserved thier win.
