After a rather tough play, Coroinha's Fabiano Vigário got a free kick in the 10th minute. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Rodrigo Correia put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Alcino Ramos. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olavo Gueifão got free with Cristiano Azevedo in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rodrigo Correia's late challenge caught a Coroinha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodrigo Correia helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpected shot in the 22nd minute by Olavo Gueifão got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Jarbas Brochado was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 24th minute. Coroinha's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Emílio Figueiredo's late challenge caught a Coroinha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emílio Figueiredo helped the player get up and apologised. Emílio Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Cristiano Azevedo didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 34th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jarbas Brochado made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Forneiros got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Faria. Forneiros's Cristiano Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarbas Brochado in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute, Olavo Gueifão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 64 played minutes Forneiros got a freekick which was hit by Lourenço Viegas. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olavo Gueifão in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristiano Azevedo saved Forneiros from getting behind. When Jarbas Brochado, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 68 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Cristiano Azevedo was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Luís Pinto might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alcino Ramos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Pinto ran back to his position shaking his head. After 74 minutes, Claudemiro Borges mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coroinha and the Forneiros players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olavo Gueifão in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristiano Azevedo saved Forneiros from getting behind. Olavo Gueifão struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Cristiano Azevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coroinha. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alcino Lemos during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 96 played minutes Coroinha got a freekick which was hit by Alcino Lemos. Forneiros's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
