Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) FC Cuspe's Isidro Severo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Durval Veloso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sálvio Álvares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. In the 4th minute, Porfírio Sá got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Romão Valentim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Quadros's late challenge caught a SC Pinheiros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Quadros helped the player get up and apologised. Pedro Quadros kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After 14 played minutes, SC Pinheiros's Alexandrino Severiano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sálvio Álvares came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Pinheiros reached it. Porfírio Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Palmiro Rangel having to interfere. Porfírio Sá who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Palmiro Rangel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to SC Pinheiros getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Diego Torres hit a great ball. Porfírio Sá recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Isidro Severo managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Cuspe's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidro Severo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Palmiro Rangel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Porfírio Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Palmiro Rangel having to interfere. When Porfírio Sá came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the FC Cuspe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Porfírio Sá couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Durval Veloso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Romão Valentim struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Sálvio Álvares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Pinheiros. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Durval Veloso during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to SC Pinheiros getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Durval Veloso hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Pinheiros's zone, Porfírio Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Palmiro Rangel came out of the goal and Porfírio Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rui Rego hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Isidro Severo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isidro Severo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Palmiro Rangel having to make a save. Porfírio Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Palmiro Rangel having to interfere. Romão Valentim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd play minute Romão Valentim came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Sálvio Álvares. 0-1. Palmiro Rangel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Porfírio Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Romão Valentim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
