In the 37th minute, Basílio Melo made a precise shot to the right of Hilário Pimentel. Abobara's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 40th minute, Alexandrino Abrantes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 44 played minutes Sandro Aleixo rounded Xisto FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. After the first half Xisto FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Xisto FC's Xavier Coelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Benevides in the 55th minute of play. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Xisto FC! The referee gave Abobara a penalty, 91 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Adão Carreira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Xisto FC's Xavier Coelho. 2-3. Xavier Coelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Aleixo in the 95th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Gabriel Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 98 minutes, Sandro Aleixo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abobara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandro Aleixo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Xisto FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Xisto FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
