Laércio Vilaça made an important save on a dangerous shot by Armando Soares in the 3rd minute. In the 5th play minute Armando Soares came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Laércio Vilaça. 1-0. After some careless play in the SC Caravelas defense, Armando Soares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Laércio Vilaça. The SC Caravelas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Laércio Vilaça should have stopped the shot. 14 minutes into the match, Armando Soares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Laércio Vilaça. SC Caravelas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armando Soares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Fernando Paredes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Laércio Vilaça. That made the score 4-0 in the 20 minute of play. SC Caravelas's Laércio Vilaça proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save SC Caravelas from getting a goal against them. Armando Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Laércio Vilaça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to SC Caravelas getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Donato Sales hit a great ball. SC Caravelas's Laércio Vilaça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Paredes in the 34th minute of play. Laércio Vilaça didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Armando Soares went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. A collision led to SC Caravelas getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Fabrício Prates hit a great ball. The audience held their breath when Jorge Vale in the 44th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Laércio Vilaça's left hand side. Laércio Vilaça was a little too slow when Catarino Simões got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 6-0.

Antero Garcez struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Bento Leiria didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Caravelas. In the 55th match minute, SC Caravelas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabrício Prates to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Fernando Paredes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poives FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Paredes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laércio Vilaça breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Poives FC's Jorge Vale got a free kick in the 60th minute. Bento Leiria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adão Carvalheira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th minute Armando Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laércio Vilaça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adão Carvalheira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bento Leiria having to interfere. Bento Leiria stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anselmo Salazar's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Caravelas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 88th minute. Penalty! For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Caravelas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Poives FC.
