Olívio Coimbra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Brito in the 4th minute of the match. Olívio Coimbra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Armando Brito's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. The audience was convinced that Armando Brito's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olívio Coimbra was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. The supporters of SC Mourelinho booed when Green Lions was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Espírito Santo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Sebastião Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Green Lions's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Armando Brito scored to the left of an out of position Olívio Coimbra, making the score, 1-1. Júlio Mota's late challenge caught a Green Lions's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Júlio Mota helped the player get up and apologised. Júlio Mota hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. When Júlio Mota was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 40 minutes had been played. A collision led to SC Mourelinho getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Júlio Mota hit a great ball. Sebastião Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olívio Coimbra having to interfere.

The wind increased when Sebastião Gaspar made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Armando Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 60 minutes into the match, Matias Gois dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alfredo Ferro, 1-2. After a rather tough play, Green Lions's Jacinto Macena got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After 65 minutes of play, SC Mourelinho's Sebastião Gaspar made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olívio Coimbra was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Manuel Salazar fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Green Lions's protests and gave Manuel Salazar a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 played minutes Green Lions got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Salazar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastião Gaspar in the 70th minute of play forced Green Lions's goalkeeper Olívio Coimbra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicolas Moita's late challenge caught a SC Mourelinho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicolas Moita helped the player get up and apologised. Nicolas Moita kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Olívio Coimbra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastião Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Matias Gois received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Alfredo Ferro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Márcio Balsemão who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Alfredo Ferro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 85 minutes into the match, Sebastião Gaspar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olívio Coimbra. Green Lions's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sebastião Gaspar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. A collision led to SC Mourelinho getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Henrique Vale hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Green Lions players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Mourelinho.
