Germano Sabrosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Claudemiro Fonseca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manuel Câmara having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Torcato Jesus in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manuel Câmara saved SC Meixedo from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torcato Jesus in the 20th minute of play forced SC Meixedo's goalkeeper Manuel Câmara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Meixedo's Manuel Câmara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torcato Jesus in the 25th minute of play. Claudemiro Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manuel Câmara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torcato Jesus, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After having played for 46 minutes, Aristides Paredes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Meixedo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aristides Paredes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Torcato Jesus was the one to do the kick off. Faguiaes FC's Reinaldo Morais got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of SC Meixedo booed when Faguiaes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torcato Jesus didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abílio Barcelos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Germano Sabrosa in the 62nd minute of the match. Manuel Câmara made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Claudemiro Fonseca sent off a good shot on target. Torcato Jesus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Câmara having to interfere. SC Meixedo's Manuel Câmara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torcato Jesus in the 70th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Faguiaes FC's zone, Normando Ramos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abílio Barcelos came out of the goal and Normando Ramos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of SC Meixedo booed when Faguiaes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reinaldo Morais didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abílio Barcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Germano Sabrosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Josué Portela kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After 81 minutes Faguiaes FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was João Borges who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Aristides Paredes heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 86th minute, Aristides Paredes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claudemiro Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Manuel Câmara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Faguiaes FC.
