After a defensive mix-up in Cachopos's zone, Elias Mourão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mário Gomes came out of the goal and Elias Mourão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Éder Carreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mário Gomes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Éder Carreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 1-0 became the score in the 15th minute when Éder Carreira elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cláudio Ramos in the 18th minute of play forced Aguias Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Inácio Varanda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Malafaia's late challenge caught a Cachopos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The ball had pretty good speed, but Mário Gomes firmly grabbed it by the left post. 36 minutes into the match, Aguias Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Nuno Guarda came free, but Inácio Varanda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Malafaia got his second yellow card in the match during the 40th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 41 played minutes Aguias Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by José Malafaia. Thanks to some nice moves Elias Mourão could shoot a difficult shot in the 46th minute, which Mário Gomes however easily saved by the left post. Elias Mourão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Mário Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elias Mourão was the one to do the kick off. Nuno Guarda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Inácio Varanda made a huge save. If Elias Mourão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Mourão in the 63rd minute of play forced Cachopos's goalkeeper Mário Gomes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Aguias Futebol Clube booed when Cachopos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Brás didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nuno Guarda got free with Inácio Varanda in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Inácio Varanda made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Nuno Guarda sent off a good shot on target. If Alexandre Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Elias Mourão came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Aguias Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elias Mourão couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Elias Mourão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aguias Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Elias Mourão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mário Gomes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 97th minute Elias Mourão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mário Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Cachopos eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
