In the last second Timóteo Vilhena throw himself and got hold of the ball when Delfim Torres in the 14thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After 16 played minutes Taipinhas got a freekick which was hit by Aprígio Anjos. After 20 minutes of play, Sarnache FC's Adalberto Távora made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Timóteo Vilhena was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 23 minutes of play, Taipinhas's Moisés Póvoas made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amável Baldaia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armindo Pimentel in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Sarnache FC's goal looked a bit too open when Armindo Pimentel came free, but Amável Baldaia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute, Moisés Póvoas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 46 minutes, Manuel Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taipinhas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Nascimento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Delfim Torres to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Taipinhas's Dário Palha got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Taipinhas's Timóteo Vilhena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adalberto Távora in the 80th minute of play. Moisés Póvoas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amável Baldaia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armindo Pimentel, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Taipinhas's zone, Delfim Torres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Timóteo Vilhena came out of the goal and Delfim Torres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Timóteo Vilhena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delfim Torres in the 90th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delfim Torres in the 96th minute of play forced Taipinhas's goalkeeper Timóteo Vilhena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
