Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) If Silvano Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Sarzedinha's Alexandre Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvano Passos in the 5th minute of play. After 6 minutes, Armindo Soares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting Kansas City and the SC Sarzedinha players grew even worse after the yellow card. Armindo Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 9th match minute, Sporting Kansas City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimiro Freitas to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Sporting Kansas City's Armindo Soares got a free kick in the 13th minute. João Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Campos in the 17th minute of the match. João Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandro Campos in the 24th minute of play. João Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro Campos, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvano Passos in the 31st minute of play forced SC Sarzedinha's goalkeeper Alexandre Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute, Júlio Baptista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Antunes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Júlio Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. João Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Sandro Campos managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Sarzedinha's supporters rose to their feet, but Sandro Campos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Antunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 40th minute, Armindo Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 43 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sporting Kansas City's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Filipe Andrade was slow to take the kick. During this time SC Sarzedinha's players had a chance to rest. SC Sarzedinha's Filipe Andrade was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but João Antunes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Rafael Carvalho hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After the first half SC Sarzedinha were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silvano Passos made a kick off. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sporting Kansas City! The goalkeeper, João Antunes, was totally fooled by SC Sarzedinha's Filipe Andrade, who 54 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Sandro Campos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. João Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 61 minutes, Vladimiro Freitas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting Kansas City and the SC Sarzedinha players grew even worse after the yellow card. Júlio Baptista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Júlio Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. João Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sporting Kansas City's Armindo Soares got a free kick in the 74th minute. After having played for 76 minutes, Júlio Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Sarzedinha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Júlio Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emanuel Gueifão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Antunes having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sporting Kansas City's Vladimiro Freitas got a free kick in the 79th minute. Sporting Kansas City's João Antunes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Kansas City from getting a goal against them. Hermínio Pedroso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Reis having to interfere. Silvano Passos struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Alexandre Reis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting Kansas City. When Hermínio Pedroso came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Sporting Kansas City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hermínio Pedroso couldn't finish the play. Sporting Kansas City's João Antunes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Kansas City from getting a goal against them. SC Sarzedinha's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
