In the 32nd minute Juvenal Campos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fábio Henriques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Amílcar Ferro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute of the match Guilherme Bacelar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fábio Henriques showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, Benfica's Fábio Henriques got control of the ball when Hermes Marques tried to sneak it across the goal line. Amílcar Ferro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Belchior Lage having to interfere. After 46 minutes, Adélio Ventura mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the kappa FC and the Benfica players grew even worse after the yellow card. Belchior Lage made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogério Oliveira in the 48th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rogério Oliveira to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Benfica's zone, Hermes Marques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fábio Henriques came out of the goal and Hermes Marques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, kappa FC's Juvenal Campos got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Rogério Oliveira really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. 77 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when kappa FC's Hermes Marques fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Delfim Marques's late challenge caught a kappa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delfim Marques helped the player get up and apologised.
