Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Alex Borges took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 9th minute Adolfo Vieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucílio Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo Matos in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucílio Saldanha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Paulo Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adolfo Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Paulo Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Lucílio Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Porto's Joaquim Damásio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save FC Porto from getting a goal against them. Alex Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Roberto Campos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Damásio having to interfere. Roberto Campos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Joaquim Damásio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joaquim Damásio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute Paulo Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucílio Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Spartak do Porto's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Matos came free, but Lucílio Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulo Matos to strike the kick off in the second half. Roberto Campos struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Joaquim Damásio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Spartak do Porto. FC Porto's Joaquim Damásio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Borges in the 56th minute of play. Adolfo Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Lucílio Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 59 played minutes, Spartak do Porto's Eurico lacerda shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joaquim Damásio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Spartak do Porto reached it. In the 62nd minute, Pascoal Cavaco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute Alex Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Damásio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Matos in the 66th minute of play forced Spartak do Porto's goalkeeper Lucílio Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquim Damásio came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Spartak do Porto's Roberto Campos. But to his dismay, Roberto Campos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Paulo Matos struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Lucílio Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Porto. Lucílio Saldanha made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Adolfo Vieira sent off a good shot on target. Joaquim Damásio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roberto Campos's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. In the 82nd minute Alex Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Damásio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Adolfo Vieira managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Porto's supporters rose to their feet, but Adolfo Vieira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lucílio Saldanha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adolfo Vieira's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, Lucílio Saldanha skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Eurico Domingos hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute, Paulo Matos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Spartak do Porto getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Afonso Queirós hit a great ball. Paulo Matos struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Lucílio Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Porto. In the 92nd minute, Adolfo Vieira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 94 minutes into the match, Spartak do Porto's goalkeeper Lucílio Saldanha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adolfo Vieira. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Spartak do Porto fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Porto had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
