The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to SC Estroil getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Marcos Castanheira hit a great ball. Henrique Oliveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adão Meira in the 12th minute of the match. SC Estroil's Adão Meira got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 16 minutes into the game, Ricardo Luz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alpossos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Estroil the free kick. In the 15th minute, one of Alpossos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Alpossos. The goalkeeper, Henrique Oliveira, was totally fooled by SC Estroil's Marcos Castanheira, who 17 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. SC Estroil's Virgílio Brites got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22nd match minute, Alpossos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. Virgílio Brites sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Virgílio Brites had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Virgílio Brites managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Estroil's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgílio Brites was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henrique Oliveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adão Meira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Virgílio Brites ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henrique Oliveira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Virgílio Brites received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Henrique Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Adão Meira made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Virgílio Brites shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrique Oliveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Virgílio Brites managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Estroil's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgílio Brites was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henrique Oliveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alexandre Almeida's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Murilo Bento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Virgílio Brites received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Henrique Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Virgílio Brites had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The Alpossos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Henrique Oliveira should have stopped the shot. Hélder Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. SC Estroil had played much better football throughout.
