Alex Calçada's late challenge caught a Ameixieira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alex Calçada helped the player get up and apologised. Alex Calçada hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by SC Vilamar's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. David Amorim was slow to take the kick. During this time Ameixieira's players had a chance to rest. Ameixieira's David Amorim was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ronaldo Sousa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ronaldo Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Albertino Lage in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ameixieira's goalkeeper Teodoro Viveiros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Vivaldo Baía had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodoro Viveiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassiano Quinaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Teodoro Viveiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vivaldo Baía in the 26th minute of the match. Ameixieira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Vilamar the free kick. In the 41st minute, Albertino Lage got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Albertino Lage might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronaldo Sousa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Albertino Lage ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zeferino Távora got free with Ronaldo Sousa in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cassiano Quinaz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Zeferino Távora ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronaldo Sousa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 61st minute, one of SC Vilamar:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Vilamar. After 63 played minutes SC Vilamar got a freekick which was hit by Alex Calçada. Albertino Lage's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronaldo Sousa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Albertino Lage sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Cassiano Quinaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Vilamar's supporters rose to their feet, but Cassiano Quinaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodoro Viveiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alex Calçada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodoro Viveiros having to interfere.
