Setúbal City's Silvério Aleixo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélder Pacheco in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xavier Neto in the 11th minute of play forced Setúbal City's goalkeeper Silvério Aleixo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 13 minutes, Xavier Neto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rial FC and the Setúbal City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th minute, Xavier Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Catarino Carrasqueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Joaquim Brás tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the game, Bento Sá was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rial FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Setúbal City the free kick. After a rather tough play, Rial FC's Bento Sá got a free kick in the 26th minute. Rubim Barata took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joaquim Brás. Rial FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Setúbal City's Murilo Torcato slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Joaquim Brás. That made the score 1-0 after 30 minutes of play. After 36 minutes, Yuri Aleixo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Setúbal City and the Rial FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Yuri Aleixo hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Setúbal City's Silvério Aleixo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Américo Neto in the 38th minute of play. In the 43rd match minute, Setúbal City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yuri Aleixo to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute, Setúbal City's Yuri Aleixo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Yuri Aleixo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Setúbal City protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Yuri Aleixo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 45 minutes into the game, one of Setúbal City:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Rial FC a penalty, 49 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by David Almeida, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Setúbal City's Silvério Aleixo. 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bento Sá stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Silvério Aleixo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Américo Neto in the 60th minute. Norberto Pinho kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Vítor Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Gustavo Lencastre hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Vítor Amorim made in the 72nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Setúbal City's Gustavo Lencastre. In the 76th minute, Américo Neto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rial FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. A collision led to Setúbal City getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Murilo Torcato hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, David Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rial FC's supporters rose to their feet, but David Almeida was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvério Aleixo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 83 minutes into the match, Setúbal City's goal looked a bit too open when Bento Sá came free, but Silvério Aleixo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Catarino Carrasqueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvério Aleixo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bento Sá in the 90th minute of play. Joaquim Brás didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rui Barata went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Rial FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
