Joaquim Queiroga was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 19th minute. White Angels United's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Samuel Valentim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Queiroga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joaquim Queiroga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Valentim having to interfere. After 28 played minutes Morrilhoes got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Portugal. Hermano Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Samuel Valentim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiago Guimarães charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tiago Guimarães the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Morrilhoes booed when White Angels United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 35th minute of the game. One of White Angels United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Morrilhoes:s goal. In the 39th match minute, White Angels United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiago Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sabino Meira in the 42nd minute of play forced White Angels United's goalkeeper Serafim Valadão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute of the match Marcos Moita sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Samuel Valentim skillfully saved the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
