After 8 played minutes Cândido Leal rounded SC Lufinha's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. SC Lufinha's Gervásio Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cândido Leal in the 16th minute of play. Cândido Leal struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Gervásio Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gavinhos FC. Cesário Lencastre hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Emanuel Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gervásio Varela having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Paulo Gaspar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cesário Lencastre struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Eduardo Viegas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Lufinha. If Cesário Lencastre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristiano Dantas kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Emanuel Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gavinhos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuel Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gervásio Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Kevin Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Emanuel Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Gavinhos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Azevedo couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cândido Leal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gervásio Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cândido Leal in the 54th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SC Lufinha's Kevin Severo got a free kick in the 54th minute. When Emanuel Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Gavinhos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Azevedo couldn't finish the play. Gervásio Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Lufinha's goalkeeper Gervásio Varela, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Gavinhos FC booed when SC Lufinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevin Severo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gervásio Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Azevedo in the 62nd minute of play. Cândido Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Gervásio Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, SC Lufinha's goal looked a bit too open when Cândido Leal came free, but Gervásio Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gervásio Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th match minute, SC Lufinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevin Severo to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gavinhos FC's goalkeeper Eduardo Viegas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gervásio Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Dantas in the 91st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cândido Leal in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gervásio Varela prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 96 minutes into the game, Gavinhos FC's Cândido Leal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gervásio Varela made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Gavinhos FC were victorious despite being under pressure from SC Lufinha for much of the match.
