After a rather tough play, Arez's Amílcar Figueira got a free kick in the 7th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Amílcar Antunes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Márcio Loureiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alexandrino Padilha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Márcio Loureiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Arez's Alexandrino Padilha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Márcio Loureiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sardoa's Márcio Loureiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Sardoa from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Sardoa's zone, Amílcar Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Márcio Loureiro came out of the goal and Amílcar Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Amílcar Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 25 minutes, Avelino Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sardoa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Avelino Almeida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Sardoa's Saúl Pimentel got a free kick in the 28th minute. Alexandrino Padilha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Márcio Loureiro having to make a save. In the 31st minute, Sardoa's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Patrício Mascarenhas fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Márcio Loureiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexandrino Padilha's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Márcio Loureiro didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 39th minute, which inside left pole to 3-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amável Vasques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Amílcar Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Alexandrino Padilha, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 52 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Márcio Loureiro was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Amílcar Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arez's supporters rose to their feet, but Amílcar Antunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Márcio Loureiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 56 minutes into the match, Sardoa's goal looked a bit too open when Amílcar Antunes came free, but Márcio Loureiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The attack was good, but when Avelino Almeida in the 62nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Alexandrino Padilha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Márcio Loureiro having to interfere. Amílcar Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Márcio Loureiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Arez booed when Sardoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
