The tension between the SC Marzugueira and the Eskimokas players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basílio Almeida in the 24th minute of play forced Eskimokas's goalkeeper Angélico Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reginaldo Carrasqueira's late challenge caught a SC Marzugueira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reginaldo Carrasqueira helped the player get up and apologised. Reginaldo Carrasqueira hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. When Basílio Almeida came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the SC Marzugueira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Almeida couldn't finish the play. In the 31st minute, Octávio Fiúza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, SC Marzugueira's André Faro got control of the ball when Armando Soeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cláudio Fernandes might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Angélico Antunes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cláudio Fernandes ran back to his position shaking his head. Angélico Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute, Armando Soeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 40th minute of the game. One of SC Marzugueira:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Eskimokas:s goal. André Faro had in the 41stth minute some difficulties stopping Zeferino Soeiro's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Zeferino Soeiro did an outstanding performance 41 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 1-0 to the right of an irritated André Faro in the goal. SC Marzugueira's André Faro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save SC Marzugueira from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Eskimokas's Angélico Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basílio Almeida in the 52nd minute of play. In the 58th minute, SC Marzugueira's Basílio Almeida ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Angélico Antunes. Angélico Antunes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. When Pedro Vasconcelos came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Eskimokas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Vasconcelos couldn't finish the play. Josué Horta's late challenge caught a SC Marzugueira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Josué Horta helped the player get up and apologised. Josué Horta hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. When Eskimokas's Pedro Vasconcelos in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Marzugueira's goalie prevented a goal. Armando Soeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but André Faro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. The supporters of SC Marzugueira booed when Eskimokas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Octávio Fiúza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armando Soeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Faro having to interfere. If Basílio Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
