Angelo Teves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Veríssimo Godinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leal Vigário fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Azenha having to interfere. Veríssimo Godinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Teves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Angelo Teves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 17 minutes, Serafim Zarco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Devils Sons and the Sporting Clube das Couves players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Devils Sons getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Serafim Zarco hit a great ball. Dimas Ávila, 18 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Cesário Brites kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Veríssimo Godinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarbas Quadros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jarbas Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarbas Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Veríssimo Godinho having to interfere. Serafim Zarco was shown his second yellow card after 32 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Serafim Zarco hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After 33 played minutes, Sporting Clube das Couves's Dimas Ávila shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Veríssimo Godinho came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sporting Clube das Couves reached it. Leal Vigário recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Devils Sons booed when Sporting Clube das Couves was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabrício Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pascoal Vasconcelos struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Emanuel Azenha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Devils Sons. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jarbas Quadros made a kick off. Pascoal Vasconcelos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Azenha having to interfere. Veríssimo Godinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jarbas Quadros in the 63rd minute of the match. Veríssimo Godinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angelo Teves in the 69th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarbas Quadros in the 71st minute of play forced Devils Sons's goalkeeper Veríssimo Godinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Angelo Teves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Veríssimo Godinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Veríssimo Godinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jarbas Quadros, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 77th minute Jarbas Quadros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Veríssimo Godinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 85 minutes, Jarbas Quadros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Clube das Couves's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jarbas Quadros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by Devils Sons's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dimas Ávila was slow to take the kick. During this time Sporting Clube das Couves's players had a chance to rest. Sporting Clube das Couves's Dimas Ávila was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Veríssimo Godinho in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Sporting Clube das Couves booed when Devils Sons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reinaldo Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. 97 minutes had been played when some careless play by Devils Sons's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dimas Ávila was slow to take the kick. During this time Sporting Clube das Couves's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Dimas Ávila got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Veríssimo Godinho quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Sporting Clube das Couves had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
