Filipe Barbosa's late challenge caught a SC Mondego's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filipe Barbosa helped the player get up and apologised. Emílio Almeida hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Jacinto Resende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Luz having to interfere. In the 18th minute Jacinto Resende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute Gonçalo Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Pinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bento Leão struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Joaquim Luz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Mondego. Joaquim Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Resende in the 26th minute of play. After 26 minutes, Humberto Cardoso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cabra FC and the SC Mondego players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 26 played minutes Cabra FC got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Cardoso. Joaquim Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bento Leão in the 30th minute of play. Jacinto Resende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Joaquim Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacinto Resende in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquim Luz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jorge Delgado, 38 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Jacinto Resende had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquim Luz. Cabra FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jacinto Resende was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marco Ferreira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jorge Delgado kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Bento Leão scored 0-2 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquim Luz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Ferreira in the 70th minute of play forced SC Mondego's goalkeeper Pedro Pinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacinto Resende struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Joaquim Luz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Mondego. Joaquim Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Resende, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bento Leão got free with Joaquim Luz in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jacinto Resende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquim Viegas hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. 85 minutes into the match, SC Mondego's Jorge Delgado broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Joaquim Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacinto Resende in the 87th minute of the match. The Cabra FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SC Mondego were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
