Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Américo Faria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quintino Maltez having to interfere. Manuel Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Quintino Maltez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Borba in the 20th minute of play forced SC Gemunde's goalkeeper Quintino Maltez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quintino Maltez having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SC Gemunde's Alcides Mota got a free kick in the 25th minute. After 29 minutes, Angelo Leal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Gemunde and the SC Figueiredo players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of SC Figueiredo booed when SC Gemunde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Leal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Quintino Maltez acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 30th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jorge Anjos. In the 32nd match minute, SC Gemunde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Ramires to maneuver through the defense. Humberto Borba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quintino Maltez having to interfere. After some careless play in the SC Figueiredo defense, Angelo Leal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rui Alves. The SC Figueiredo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rui Alves should have stopped the shot. A collision led to SC Figueiredo getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Eusébio Faria hit a great ball. The SC Figueiredo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Gemunde were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Humberto Borba to make the kick off. Pedro Ramires could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Rui Alves made a huge save. When Alcides Mota fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Gemunde's protests and gave Alcides Mota a yellow card for diving instead. Alcides Mota kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Quintino Maltez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Borba in the 71st minute of the match.
