The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dário Falcão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Éder Novais, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Dário Falcão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Éder Novais in the 13th minute of play. Rui Valadão received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dário Falcão came out and tried to block the shot, but Rui Valadão slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 17th minute. Éder Novais hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Éder Novais kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Rui Valadão made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 25thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Dário Falcão would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Éder Novais received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Dário Falcão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Lisandro Igrejas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dário Falcão. The goal made the score 2-0. 33 minutes into the match, KappaFenix Football Club's goalkeeper Dário Falcão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rui Valadão. A collision led to KappaFenix Football Club getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Adriano Lage hit a great ball. Éder Novais received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Dário Falcão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, KappaFenix Football Club's Dário Falcão got control of the ball when Rui Valadão tried to sneak it across the goal line. KappaFenix Football Club's Dário Falcão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Éder Novais in the 45th minute of play. When Albertino Moreira came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the KappaFenix Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albertino Moreira couldn't finish the play.

The wind increased when Amado Câmara made the kick off in the second half. Amado Câmara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julião Belém having to interfere. In the 58thth minute of the game Rui Valadão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KappaFenix Football Club's Dário Falcão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rui Valadão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Dário Falcão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dário Falcão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Éder Novais, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Éder Novais recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 66 minutes, Mário Veríssimo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KappaFenix Football Club and the Hortas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mário Veríssimo kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Éder Novais in the 67th minute of play forced KappaFenix Football Club's goalkeeper Dário Falcão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rui Valadão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hortas's Rui Valadão got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Éder Novais managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hortas's supporters rose to their feet, but Éder Novais was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dário Falcão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Albertino Moreira took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julião Belém. Julião Belém dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After 82 minutes, Israel Carvalhais mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KappaFenix Football Club and the Hortas players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of KappaFenix Football Club:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hortas:s goal. In the 88th minute, Rui Valadão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rui Valadão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Dário Falcão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hortas walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
