Contenda's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Herberto Aguiar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Ricardo Dantas got a throw-in 26 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Rafael Araújo. Abel Neves struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Carlos Gueifão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Contenda. Abel Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alfredo Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dércio Graça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 41 minutes, Stefan Schütz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Contenda and the Montoito players grew even worse after the yellow card.
