Donim's Guilherme Maia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Nunes in the 19th minute of play. Vítor Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th match minute, Donim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aldaír Arruda to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the game, Fernando Aleixo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ficalho FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Donim the free kick. The supporters of Donim booed when Ficalho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Aleixo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Vítor Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sálvio Espinosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Santarém having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Romão Moita in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adolfo Santarém prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 47th minute Donim were awarded a corner. Sandro Lage went to the cornerflag to take it. Sandro Lage made a great header on Donim's corner, it was just that Ficalho FC's Adolfo Santarém managed to reach the ball for a save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romão Moita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Miguel Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the game, Jacinto Coelho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Adolfo Santarém showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romão Moita in the 67th minute of the match. Sálvio Espinosa was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 68th minute. Donim's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Jacinto Coelho hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Sálvio Espinosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Romão Moita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 84 minutes into the game, Ficalho FC's Vítor Barros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Guilherme Maia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0.
