The Pinglino 69 F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aloísio Lamego should have stopped the shot. Luís Cardoso might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aloísio Lamego. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Cardoso ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Cardoso in the 42nd minute of play forced Pinglino 69 F.C.'s goalkeeper Aloísio Lamego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aloísio Lamego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil Ferro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Canecas's António Jesus got a free kick in the 44th minute. José Lobo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Carlos Machado made a huge save. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gil Ferro to make the kick off.
